Thanksgiving Day Parade

Thanksgiving was last Thursday and I was kind of excited about the holiday since is a tradition that Aussie’s don’t celebrate. Apart from having a day off to eat turkey and spend time with family and friends one of the great things about Thanksgiving is the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. To get into the spirit of the holiday we headed up to Columbus Circle with some friends to watch the Parade. The Parade was filled with marching bands, massive balloon’s of your favourite cartoon characters and was so much bigger and longer than I expected. We got a bit snap happy and literally took a photo of every balloon and float that went past so here are some of the best pictures of the day – these ones bring a smile to my face every time I look at them.

{Sonic the Hedgehog opening the Parade}

{Buzz Lightyear}

{Big Bird - looking straight at us!}

{Kermit the Frog - have you seen the new Muppet movie yet?}

{Kung Fu Panda}

We are heading up to the Rockefeller Centre tonight to watch the lighting of the Christmas Tree – loving getting into the holiday spirit.
