Kim Kardashian and THAT baby weight

in just 3 months!

I shouldn’t care but I do. I was all team Kim Kardashian during her pregnancy. All those nasty people calling her fat when she was just this normal pregnant 30-year-old. I mean, lets face it, Kim is no Gisele Bundchen, she has to work hard for her body (which is ahhmazing!!). But losing 43 pounds in 3 months! I’m disappointed Kim, disappointed that you aren’t normal like the rest of us because you have an army of people to help you – cooks, cleaners and personal trainers –  to lose the baby weight in super fast time without having to worry about getting dinner on the table for Kanye when he walks in the door.

Congratulations Kim Kardashian on the engagement btw. A 15 carat sparkler and one baby North West, you must be one happy lady.

The Oscars {2013}

I really do love awards season and living in the US is the perfect excuse to stay up late to watch the live telecast (rather than checking the internet every 5 minutes to check out the new arrivals on the red carpet which usually happens back in Australia).

 We didn’t host a shindig like we did last year (I’m starting to struggle a bit now at 32 weeks) but I did stay up to watch it..well almost all of it.

Let me just whinge for a moment: Jennifer Lawrence – wtf, was Silver Linings Playbook that good? And poor Hugh, Daniel Day-Lewis was always going to win Best Actor.

 For 2013 my best dressed awards go to

Naomi Watts in Armani

Jessica Chastain in Armani Prive (that woman is on fire she looks drop dead gorgeous)

P.S I have a crush on Bradley Cooper…I’m just saying…

{Inspiration} Wear-to-work

Since heading back to work I have been on the look out for wear-to-work clothes. I have never been a huge fan of the suit so I need to find outfits that are suitably corporate but show enough personality to make dressing in the morning fun. In Sydney I would wear a dress almost every other day but recently I’ve been drawn to separates, especially trousers.

The Oscars {2012}

We had a few people over to watch the Oscars last Sunday evening. It wasn’t meant to be an ‘Oscar’ party but it ended up that way with Hawaiian mini pizzas (The Decendants), cracker jack popcorn (Moneyball) and chocolate pie (The Help).

{There was no special ingredient in this chocolate pie!}

Credit goes to Tim for baking the choc pie, it turned out delicious! Thank you Eric Lanlard for Cake Boy – it’s a great cook book, never had an issue with any recipe.

There wouldn’t be an Oscar post without discussion about my fav dresses. Here are my top 3.

Milla Jovovich in Ellie Saab. One word, supermodel.

Penelope Cruz in Armani Prive. She looks like an old movie star. Even Joan Rivers gave this one a gold star.

This one might be a little controversial since technically this isn’t the red carpet but my final pick goes to Shailene Woodley at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Proenza Schouler. Such a fun dress and totally age appropriate.

I just love awards season and checking out the beautiful dresses. So envious, the last time I put on beautiful dress was my wedding dress way back in October 2010. When was the last time you got to get all dressed up?

Golden Globes best dressed {2012}

The 69th Annual Golden Globes Awards kicked off the 2012 awards season this week. I love awards season. I think I just love looking at the beautiful ball gowns and tuxedos, stunning accessories and critiquing celebrity dress choices. This year it was a little harder to pick my two favourites outfits but here they are.

1. Heidi Klum in Calvin Klein

I think secretly I love her Lorraine Schwartz necklace more than the dress.

2. Reese Witherspoon in Zac Posen

I love the dress but the beachy/bed hair wins this outfit for me particularly since her hair is usually perfectly coiffed.

This is the second year in a row that Calvin Klein is in my best dressed list (see here for last year) I think I just love the simplicity of his tailoring and how his dresses drape over the body.
